Google has introduced a new feature for Google Maps designed to simplify travel planning using artificial intelligence. The new function allows users to analyze screenshots and integrate relevant travel information such as sights or restaurants directly into Google Maps. Users can save or ignore the recognized screenshots. Saving the screenshot displays the mentioned location in Google Maps, where it can be saved for route planning or as a favorite.
The new feature promises to significantly simplify travel planning. The automated analysis of screenshots eliminates annoying intermediate steps and makes travel preparation more efficient. However, the integration of AI into travel planning also raises privacy issues. Google Maps' access to users' personal photos could be viewed critically.
